For several minutes the fighting ensued, and when the dust settled, the hunter had been sent to the nearest graveyard. A melee battle followed, with Speedy growling to keep the hunter focused on her. When Speedy realised what was happening she charged the hunter and managed to stun him. Throwing himself between the arrow and the target, Gamora took a critical hit. Fortunately Gamora spotted the hunter as he raised his bow and locked Speedy in his sights. However, tragedy struck one day when a Troll hunter who was trading turtle shells on the undead black market stumbled on the two turtles while they were resting on the beach. By all accounts they had a wonderful time together. They would spend their days fishing, and nights roaming the beaches along Darrowmire lake. Although they were from different sides of Kalimdor, Speedy from the Barrens, and Gamora from the WPL, the two hit things off quiet well. During this time Speedy developed a relationship with a local turtle named Gamora. On a recent trip to Southshore I gave Speedy some R&R time to hang out with the local turtle population while I ran some errands in the highlands. So the least I could do was let her cut loose for a while. Indeed, there is no doubt that she is one tough turtle. Anyone who has seen her in action will appreciate the work she does when she is part of the group. She had been working quiet hard lately saving my life time and time again (as she does). And while nights like this remain to be had, I will return to WoW again and again.Įven turtles get lonely sometimes, and Speedy is no exception. For even though the run was over, with the party spread across Azeroth like a scattered set of runes tossed on a surface of a map, our efforts had been valiant, and the hearts of the combatants true. Moran fell in the instance and as I lay there, a shell of the dwarf that had stood there only seconds ago, I smiled. I cast smite, I cast mindblast, shield, fear, heal. One priest left to fight a group of angry orcs in the pits of Lower Blackrock Spire. One by one, the party began to vanish from the instance. As we fought against them Mals yelled "the group hasn't worked, I'm about to be ported". Everything seemed ok, and someone pulled a group of mobs.
Before I knew what was happening, the party had disbanded and Lovelysheep was reinviting the members. With Genzo gone we were down to five and Frotzz suggested switching the group back to a regular party from the raid that it had become. Let this be a lesson, and a lesson well learnt, a group that stays together, survives together.
We worked our way past the spiders and towards the twin beasts Halycon and Gizrul when Genzo announced that he had to depart the group. Even when we accidentally pulled three orc mob groups before the spiders we managed to keep things together enough to take them out without a single loss on our side. Then to Vosh'gajin and then Mouther Smolderweb, each of which trembled before out precise striking techniques and flawless teamwork.
We fought straight to War Master Voone who did not put up much of a fight, but dropped Beaststalker Gloves. We were then joined by Frotzz, and with a group of 6 we were unstoppable. The Ogre went down like a sack of potatoes during the potato famine of 1847.
We hit the instance fighting, the group worked really well together and we reached Highlord Omokk at a rapid pace. Fortunately at our moment of utmost despair 'Cat logged on. We even considered a LFG broadcast (even though pickups can be the worst). getting desperate I tried to call people in the outside world: Varlyn wasn't answering, Seijuro was not at home. 'Sheep was online and we instantly had a 4th, then nothing. Tonight was such an occasion =) Upon entering Azeroth, Mals and Genzo were keen to run an instance (so many options, so little time), we agreed on LBRS and proceeded to look for a few more people. Of late, I haven't had much time to play WoW, therefore when I do manage to find time, I like to make the most of it.
